On the Ridge-Crest
On the way to the summit of Hoyt Peak, Bob studies, what some consider to be the most difficult section of the climb, a rock outcrop. We considered climbing over the outcrop to be upper Class 3, though we decided some might want to classify it Class 4 because of the exposure during a couple of moves.

The easiest route though, is the track around the right (southwest) side at the base of the outcrop. That path removes all exposure and keeps it Class 2. © Mike Hoyt, 9jul07.
