What does KOA stand for in reference to the campgrounds?

"Kampgrounds of America." They went around the country about 30 years ago, buying portions of farm fields to turn into campgrounds near to interstate highways. They put in a bunch of sapling trees, which are now just beginning to mature, so they’re only just now looking like campgrounds instead of parking places next to corn fields.
